What We Learned This week we talked about nutrition. The children heard a song called 5 a day. The song talks about eating 5 fruits/vegetables a day. At lunch we try to find children with fruits and vegetables in their hot or cold lunch. The children painted cones orange to make carrots. We painted orange pumpkins. On Friday, we had carrots, oranges, and tangerines for snack. We will continue our unit on fruits and vegetables next week. We will assemble all the fruits and vegetables outside of our room for a bulletin board. We printed the letter “Hh” and learned the sound of “h.” Next week we will learn to print the letter “Ii” and recognize the short vowel sound of the letter “Ii” as heard at the beginning of the word “igloo.”
Important Notes Please label jackets, hats, and gloves. We teach the children to put their mittens in their hat, and place the hat in their sleeve. Hopefully, this organizational tip will prevent loss of mittens and hats. .
Please clean out your child’s backpack. The space will be needed for boots and snow pants in the future. Thank you.
On November 23rd we will have a short program in our room. The children will perform Nursery Rhymes. The show will take about 20 minutes. Parents, siblings, and grandparents are invited to attend.
